Add a CD to AMP
I would be very happy to expand AMP's music library beyond my own collection. If you have an anime CD you'd like to add to AMP, then read on!
First and most importantly, I ONLY want info on legal CDs, and preferrably the Japanese release. This means absolutely NO Son May, Ever Anime, or any other bootlegs. Legal, licensed releases only!!!! It also means I'd rather have the original Japanese version of the CD over its NA or European counterpart. For the best info, go directly to the source, ne? Yes, I will list NA or European licensed CDs, but understand that I do prefer the Japanese version.
For me to add your CD, I need scans of the front, back, and actual CD. These scans will need to be of the appropriate quality, namely 150 dpi or larger. Yes, I know web browsers display at 72 dpi, but I need scans at 150!!! CDs without Japanese-language can be scanned at 100%. For CDs with Japanese-language type, they will have to be scanned large enough for me to read the kanji and kana, which ususally requires them to be scanned at 300%. Yes, that's huge. YOU try reading furigana scanned at only actual size!!! And if neither the front, back, nor actual CD contains the track list, I will need a scan of that, too. (Even if the list is in English and you can retype it in email, I need a scan of the actual list. Please. ^^)
Beyond scans, I will need you to describe the CD for me. Again, see one of my CD pages for an example. I would like a page-by-page description of the CD book and the music itself. Also note anything unusual about the CD, such as embossing, collector's boxes or sleeves, bonus lithographs, posters, manga, etc. Anything beyond a normal CD. ^^
I can only read English and Japanese. If your CD is in any other language, I will need you to translate for me. I should only need the CD name and song titles, so hopefully it wouldn't be too bad for you. ^^
Be prepared to answer questions. For example, not all tracklists include singer information with the song title. So I might need you to flip through the CD book and tell me who sings what. Also if I need a more detailed description beyond what you send me, I will be emailing you. If I do have a question about your CD, rest assured I WILL ask you. ^^ I am incredibly nit-picky when it comes to information on my site, and I always seek accuracy. *nods*
Please do NOT offer to send me a copy of your CD, be it an actual burned CD or a set of mp3s. Yes, it is nice to offer free music, but I am strictly legal now. If you do offer a copy of your CD, I will gracefuly decline.
Now, if you would, please look over some of AMP's CD pages for actual examples of finished CD listings. This is what your scans and info will help accomplish:
Laputa OST (32ATC-115)
Mononoke Hime Image Album (TKCA-70946)
Orphen OST (BVCR-15002)
For more examples, see AMP's Sailor Moon, Escaflowne, and jpop L'Arc~en~Ciel pages.
To summarize:
1. Legal, licensed releases only. No Son May, Ever Anime, or any other bootlegs. Japanese releases preferred
2. I need scans of the front cover, back cover, and the actual CD
3. the scans MUST be at 150dpi
4. if the image does not contain Japanese language, the scans must be at least 100% original size
5. if the image contains Japanese language, the scans MUST be at 300% original size so I can read them
6. if the track list is not included on the front, back, or the actual CD, then I will need a scan of that, too
7. I need a description of the CD, namely a page-by-page description of the CD book and an overview of the music itself. Also note anything unusual about the CD
8. If the CD is in any language but English or Japanese, I will need you to translate for me
9. Be prepared to answer any questions I might have about the CD
10. Please do not offer to send me a copy of your CD or any of its mp3s
If you can handle the above, then read on!
To submit your CD...
Email me first!! Do NOT send any scans, just an email telling me about your CD. I would like to know the anime or jpop artist it is from, the country of publication, and the name of the record company. (Remember, no Son May, Ever Anime, or any other bootlegs!) It would also be great if you could tell me what kind of songs were on the CD, such as "it's an image ablum" or "the first original soundtrack, but only bgm" or "seiyuu remixes of the ops and eds", etc etc etc. No need for the tracklist just yet!
If I can use and would like your CD's info, I will reply with information on how you can send your scans and info to me. Please understand that my spare time is limited and it might take over a week for me to have time to reply. So if you make an offer, please be patient. ^^
Ready to share your CD?? Then please tell me about it! My email is slr2moons@hotmail.com. Be sure to make the subject something like "an anime CD you might need for AMP" so I will notice. ^^ I look forward to hearing from you!
