title: Sorcerous Stabber Orphen Original Soundtrack--
title translation: not needed, the title is the anime's rather odd official English title as said by Japan...
catalog number: BVCR-15002
country of publication: Japan
publisher: BMG Japan
date of release: February 17th, 1999
book: full color, 16 pages on heavy paper
tracks: 35
total running time: 1 hour 4 min 36 seconds
description: Orphen Original Soundtrack, likely #1 of several. The first opening (track 1) and first ending (track 31) are included and both are full-length. All other tracks are background music except for 32-34, which are blank. They are even labeled as such in the track list. (Don't ask me...) The background music is just about all synthesizer and reminds me of bgm from 80s video games. If that's before your time and you don't have access to one, rent "The Princess Bride" and pay attention at tbe beginning when the grandson is playing his baseball game. *grins* The CD book is the best part of this CD. It is printed in full color on heavy paper, and every page has some sort of image. Pages 2 and 3 are the tracklist. Page 4 is an introduction to the anime's storyline. Page 5 has short descriptions of the main characters. Pages 6-9 are devoted to "Talk Match Around Soundtrack", a conversation between the musician Hatake and another man who I suspect is the bgm composer. Page 10 is "Self Notes of Hatake" (ever seen a peroxide blond Japanese man??), and page 11 is "Message from the Great Composer". Oh, and page 11 is the only one without some sort of pic. <:P Page 12 has the lyrics to the first opening and ending. Page 13 has music copyright info, LD/DVD/VHS info for the anime release, and even fan club info at the bottom. Page 14 has all the soundtrack staff credited, and page 15 has the same for the tv animation staff. And page 16, the back cover of the book, has a fun pic of the five main characters. I especially like Cleao in this one, she looks particularly annoyed. Hahaha! Now, my opinion. :) Except for the opening and ending, I rarely listen to this CD. The synthesizer background music just doesn't really appeal to me. As said above, the best part of this CD is the book. It has some great images inside. And of course, I will always love Last Kiss. ^^
