As I understand it, the reason there has never been a soundtrack release of this anime's background music is because the two composers, Shinozaki and Haneda, have been at odds with each other over something for all these years. If you happen to have more info about this, please let me know! I do know the op and ed have been released on a single, but the cd information is yet unknown to me.
