Notes:

1. Kouji obviously resents his popularity, and likely the image his manager has cultivated. He isn't the Nanjou Kouji plastered all over Tokyo, but his own person. Hence, his (roundabout) statement that he isn't Nanjou Kouji, but he could "act" like him. Technically, he ISN'T the Nanjou Kouji Izumi saw, as the idol is just an act. I stressed the word "act" here because the original Japanese used the verb "dekiru", which means "to be able to, can do (something)". If I had left my final translation, "I can be that type of sappy man," it doesn't as clearly show that he is capable of doing it. Of course, I could also be splitting hairs. <:P

2. The strange "VTR" reference from page 33 is used here again, when Izumi says "even if it was pre-recorded". For now, I'm sticking with my earlier guess of VTR standing for "Video Tape Recording".
