1. This page contains a delightful joke that just doesn't work in English. The first line of the joke I translated above as "With Takuto-kun, it's always something different." The original Japanese is, "Takuto-kun tara nee, kessou kaechatte." Literal translation: "You see, that Takuto-kun will change his expressions." I took this to mean he's always doing something different and can't be predicted. The second line of the joke I was able to translate truthfully, "If the fever had not gone down, what would he have done?". Original Japanese there is "Netsu ga sagannakattara doushiyou tte." The punchline is Kouji's response, which I wrote above as "Probably cried." Now, remember the "changes his expressions" bit above? The original Japanese for the punchline was "Naki sou na kao shite," whose literal translation is "Make a face like he's crying." A very cute joke in Japanese, but leaving the facial expression references is too strange for Western ears. A real shame!! The joke DOES work the way I wrote it on the scanlation, it just isn't as cute. Ah well...
